QMJHL Sets October 1 Return Date

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League says it plans to return to the ice on October 1.

The decision comes after consultations between the league, government officials and public health agencies.

Training camps will open on August 30 and teams will be limited to 34 players this year.

The regular season will include a 60-game schedule and the league will be divided into three divisions.

The six teams in the Maritimes division will only play each other during the entire regular season.

Due to the pandemic, fans can expect a reduced capacity for games and public health guidelines must be followed.

More details about the new season are expected in the coming weeks.
