Quispamsis Now Responsible For Its Own Garbage Collection

The town of Quispamsis will now be responsible for its own garbage collection effective January 4th.

Mayor Murray Driscoll says the new by-law will save the average resident roughly $200 a year on collection expenses.

He says everyone with a home valued less then $600,000 will save money.

Driscoll says the town will send out door knockers to update residents on new schedules for picking up their garbage and composting.

He says in May, the town will look at curbside recycling.

Quispamsis Council unanimously passed the by-law.

Driscoll expects most residents to be happy with the new changes.
