Quispamsis and Rothesay Still Undecided On 2021 Acadian Games

Saint John has confirmed its support and will host the 2021 Acadian Games.

Michel Cote from the Francophone Association of Saint John hopes Quispamsis and Rothesay will co-host the event and says the games inspire youth on an athletic and cultural level.

He says being able to have the games while speaking your own language is very important to Francophone kids.

Athletes competing in the games are between the ages of 11 and 16.

The town of Quispamsis has referred the matter to its finance committee for consideration as part of its 2018 budget.

Saint John hosted the games in 2010 and Cote says people are still talking about how well the event went

Cote hopes to hear a decision from Quispamsis and Rothesay by mid-October.
