Quispamsis Seeks Input On Recreation Master Plan

Quispamsis residents are invited to help the town develop its recreation master plan.

A community workshop will take place at Quispamsis Town Hall on Wednesday afternoon.

The aim of the plan is to provide the necessary framework for planning, upgrading, and developing the town’s recreational services over the next decade.

“We need a recreation master plan that is a roadmap over the next 10 years that moves our faciliites, programs, activities and operations toward something that really reflects our community and really reflects our lifestyle,” said Jim Scott, a senior landscape architect and planner with Trace Planning and Design.

The town is working with Trace Planning and Design to collect ideas, experiences and information to help develop the plan.

Scott said they have already identified seven emerging themes from residents to date as part of the process, including environment, active transportation, multi-use/multi-generational, and sense of community.

Residents can drop by the town hall between 4 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday to offer their input and ideas.

Those not able to attend can fill out an online survey, which town staff say will give them a better understanding of which activities residents are participating in, how facilities are being used, and who is using them.
