Quispamsis To Undergo Performance Audit

Quispamsis is embarking on a performance audit to see just how well the town is operating.

Mayor Gary Clark says the town has set aside $101,000 in the 2019 budget for the review.

“This hasn’t been done in 25 years,” said Clark.

The audit has been a bit controversial among council, Clark said, with many wondering when is the right time to do it.

Clark said he believes now is the right time, adding he is looking forward to seeing the results.

He said the review will look at many different areas of the town’s operations.

“Vehicles, staffing, every detail of the town and what is involved with the town, and look at all of the operating of the town and see if we find any deficiencies or if there’s something that the town needs,” Clark said.

The audit should be completed sometime this year, he said.
