RCMP Investigating Fire In Grand Bay-Westfield

One of the oldest homes in Rothesay was saved from going up in smoke thanks to a neighbour who saw smoke billowing from the basement area of 48 Gondola Point Road.

The fire was actually under the porch. Platoon Chief Kevin Clynyk of the Kennebecasis Fire Department tells CHSJ News crews managed to get on top of it quickly which prevented the fire damage from spreading to the inside of the home where there was smoke damage.

Meantime, there is a suspicious fire in Grand Bay-Westfield and the RCMP are now investigating. The back half of a vacant house on Epworth Park Road was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.
