RCMP now believe 4 dogs were shot in eastern N.B.

RCMP say they now believe that a firearm was used to kill four dogs in eastern New Brunswick.

Officers were called to a home on Route 116 in the community of Bass River on Jan. 11.

The New Brunswick SPCA attended the scene two days later and seized the dogs.

“Following a necropsy, the use of a firearm is believed to be the cause of their deaths, and the RCMP has taken carriage of the file,” Mounties said in a news release on Wednesday.

Police are now looking for information in relation to the deaths, which they describe as suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Richibucto RCMP at 506-523-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
