Recommendations to Make Life Safer For Children In Care Accepted

A number of recommendations have emerged and been accepted by the provincial government according to Families and Children Minister Stephebn Horsman after the deaths of five children in care of the province were examined by the Child Death Review Committee.

The recommendations include obligating medical staff in a hospital to report their concerns to Social Development…….Getting together with police and a doctor after a child suffers a suspicious injury……..The results of the police investigation be passed on to the Social Development Department and the child should not be sent back to the home where the injury occurred until the person responsible for causing the injury has been identified.
