The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce is calling for a one minute protest on September 15th to demonstrate displeasure about the proposed federal tax changes. The Chamber is calling on all businesses to stop work for one minute at 1:00 that afternoon.
Prime Minister Trudeau sees the tax system we now have as being rigged in favour of the wealthy and that’s what his government wants to change.
Having said that, Trudeau adds Liberal MPs will be gathering feedback from their constituents on the issue. Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long will be holding a public meeting with small business owners tomorrow afternoon.
