River Watch Issues Warning About Possibility Of Flooding

Things are finally starting to warm up after a seemingly endless winter but the downside of these balmy temperatures is the threat of spring flooding.

River Watch issuing a warning with above zero temperatures and the potential for 20 millimeters or more of rain to fall on southern New Brunswick by Friday.

Paul Bradley of River Watch says those living along streams and rivers are being asked to keep an eye out for ice movement because when there’s ice movement there’s always the possibility it could jam up and if water gets trapped behind the jam then water is going to rise.

If you live near an area that’s been flooded before, they are asking you to take action now to protect your home and belongings.

River Watch will be watching water levels and will be providing regular updates online.
