Rotavirus Vaccine Now Available In New Brunswick

The Rotavirus vaccine is now available for babies that were born this year who are less than 15 weeks old.

It’s a two-dose vaccine given to babies when they are two and four months old.

The Rotavirus causes severe diarrhea and vomiting which can lead to serious illness and even hospitalization.

It usually impacts children between six months and two years old and roughly 20-percent of all stomach flu cases in children are caused by the Rotavirus.
