Rothesay Common Controversy Escalates

Lorraine Forbes is no longer a member of the Heritage Board in Rothesay as the controversy over upgrading Rothesay Common takes a new twist.

The town will review whether Forbes was in conflict of interest by posting a Facebook page in support of the project when she was on the Heritage Board.

Her term on the Heritage Board expired last month and, after 6 years, that’s it for her.

Forbes says the Facebook battle over whether the upgrade was a good idea or not reinforces the image of Rothesay as a stuffy town that’s resistent to change of any kind, which she says it is not.

She has taken down her Facebook page, saying it attracted what she calls some creepy comments.
