MP Rodney Weston annoucing a contribution of just under $2.5 million in federal funding for wastewater infrastructure upgrades in the town of Rothesay.
Weston tells CHSJ News the federal and provincial governments and the town of Rothesay will each contribute one third of the total costs of the project which will be just under $7.5 million.
The funding is provided through the Small Communities Fund, which has approved 39 total projects worth more then $85 million in joint funding
Mayor Bill Bishop says the money allows the town of Rothesay to put out tender documents immediately and hopefully put a shovel in the ground in early spring.
