A one year old girl from Sackville needs your help to find a bone marrow match.
Baby Marlie was diagnosed with Leukemia in January.
Her mom Erin Curwin says she has had two rounds of chemo so far, and they recently found out that she is in remission, “But even with her being in remission, she needs a transplant. If she doesn’t go ahead with the transplant, guaranteed it will come back.”
She hopes they can find a marrow match by next month, “if we don’t have a match by May, they will just give her another round of chemotherapy to make sure this will stay away until we find a match.”
Erin says her little girl has been bery strong through all of the procedures, but it has been tough, “Seeing her strength and how well she is doing carries me throughout the day. I should be the strong one because I am the mother, but honestly, she is amazing, she is doing so well.”
One Match clinics are being held at the Canadian Blood Services this month. You can have a DNA swab done, that will be tested to see if you might be a bone marrow match.
The next one for Marlie will be held in Moncton on April 23rd. For details on other clinics, visit CBS
