The tourism sector and commercial fishing will get a boost, now that the Saint Andrews Wharf will be getting a major overhaul.
Upgrades to the Market wharf include the installation of protection anodes over existing piers to eliminate corrosion, the installation of floating decks, upgrades to the old section of the deck, repairs to the understructure, and a new breakwater.
Saint Andrews Mayor Stan Choptiany says the Town has committed more than 10 percent of the overall budget — with $400 grand going to the project.
Between the Town, the province and the federal government, almost $1.3 million will be invested into the Market Wharf.
