Saint John considers allowing ATVs on some roadways

Saint John council is seeking your input on whether to allow all-terrain vehicles on city roadways.

The Lorneville Trail Riders Club 57 wants permission to drive ATVs on sections of three roads.

It includes King William Road from Ocean Westway to Galbraith Place, a portion of Paddy’s Hill Road, and all of Galbraith Place.

The change, according to city officials, aims to link up existing off-road trails and is planned for the second quarter of 2025.

Council is seeking input from residents and others to help inform their decision on the potential bylaw changes.

You can have your say through Shape Your City Saint John until May 21.

If approved, the Lorneville changes would be considered a pilot project.

City staff say they will seek further feedback before making any additional changes.
