Saint John holding online engagement session for parking study

Officials in Saint John are hosting another public engagement session as part of their comprehensive parking study.

The study is reviewing current parking services, including inventory, capacity and demand, and making recommendations for future improvements.

It is also evaluating emerging trends like active transportation and greening parking services, and looking for ways to enhance accessibility.

“Parking issues in the City of Saint John, specifically in the South-Central Peninsula neighbourhood, include challenges such as the perception of limited availability of parking spaces in certain areas, leading to congestion and difficulties for both residents and visitors to find parking,” the city said in a news release.

“Other common issues and concerns include unclear or inadequate signage, leading to confusion over parking regulations, as well as issues related to parking enforcement, like ticketing, or concerns related to the cost of parking in some locations.”

This week’s online engagement session will provide a summary of feedback received so far and an overview of the draft recommended strategy.

It takes place Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. You can access the session and register in advance for a reminder by clicking here.

More details about the study can be found on the Shape Your City website.
