One of Saint John’s most famous volunteers has passed away.

Pat Darrah ran the Saint John Construction Association for many years along with serving on many board and committees.

In 2015, Darrah was named to the Order of Canada and told our newsroom at the ti , he was shocked to get that honour.

Bobby’s Hospice also honoured Darrah at the Sunshine Luncheon in 2010.

His many years serving the community began when he started volunteering at the age of 13 with the Empty Stocking Fund.
