Rising water levels may be closing some roads in Saint John, but that won’t keep police from patrolling affected areas.
Staff Sgt. Jim Fleming says they’ll be on the lookout for people who may be up to no good.
He has an important ask for people who have decided to stay behind.
“Please, if you see something suspicious … call us and we do have equipment to respond,” says Fleming.
Police are using off-road vehicles to help patrol areas affected by the unprecedented flooding.
Fleming says anyone going to an area that’s been closed off will be ticketed, but officers are using discretion for residents who may need to go back.
