Saint John police investigate alleged shooting

Saint John police are investigating an alleged shooting that sent a woman to the hospital.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Carmarthen Street shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

“On arrival, officers located a 33-year-old female who had allegedly been shot,” police said in a news release.

The victim was transported to the hospital, but police said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators said charges have yet to be laid as no suspects have been identified yet.

“This is believed to be an isolated incident,” said the release.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area who has video footage or surveillance of the incident.
