Saint John Police Investigate Armed Robbery At East Side Convenience Store

Saint John police are looking for a suspect after an armed robbery at a convenience store off Golden Grove Road.

Sgt. David Cowan says officers were called to Little John’s Variety just after 8:30 this morning.

Cowan tells us the man was armed with a weapon and fled with some cash, but no one was hurt.

Police aren’t saying what type of weapon was used or if the suspect may have used a vehicle to flee.

Cowan says the Major Crime Unit is reviewing surveillance video and may release a suspect description at some point.

At least four other businesses have been the target of armed robberies since the beginning of March.

A baseball-wielding man robbed the Pizza Delight on Main Street West and Snacker’s Convenience on Milford Road last weekend.

Earlier this month, the Airport General Store and the Garden Street Irving were robbed within 10 hours of one another.

Arrests were made in all of those instances.
