Saint John police launch ‘Chief for a Day’ contest

Saint John is in search of a new police chief — but just for one day.

The force is holding a “Chief for a Day” contest as part of National Police Week from May 14 to 20.

Candidates must be between the ages of five and 12 years old.

They must submit a one-page essay explaining what values would be important for all police officers to demonstrate.

The new chief will spend the day at police headquarters checking out some “really cool things,” police said in a news release on Tuesday.

All entries must be received by Friday, May 12. More details can be found by clicking here.
