The city of Saint John says it is preparing for the potential effects of post-tropical storm Erin.
Officials say the storm has the potential to cause localized flooding and moderate wind conditions.
“City crews are checking on catch basins and will be closely monitoring drains, culverts, wastewater collection systems and wastewater lift stations,” said a statement from the city Thursday.
“Tree crews will be available to deal with any fallen limbs.”

With localized flooding and power outages possible, Saint John EMO recommends having a home 72-hour emergency kits ready to go.
The city says while the impacts of Erin may be minimal, we are now entering the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs through October.
Environment Canada says we could see up to 60 millimetres of rain by later Thursday night.
