SAINT JOHN – After 17 years in the real estate industry, Jason Stephen is now Vice-President of the Canada Real Estate Association.
He was elected on Monday and tells us they work with the Federal government hosting hosting political action days every year.
Stephen says one ask they bring to government is too increase the limits for the homebuyer’s program which has only changed once since the early 90’s.
He says we all know the price of real estate is not the same now as it was in the 90’s so they are always asking the Feds to index it to some sort of inflation.
He says there is some travel involved but a lot of the work he can do from home thanks to technology.
We asked Jason Stephen if working in provincial politics helps him in his career and he says dealing with people is dealng with people.
When he got started in real estate he treated it as launching a campaign because that is his background.
