Saint John Reflections — Photography by Andrew Miller

Recently, Krista has been delighted to see amazing photos of Saint John popping up in her feed. Earlier in January, she reached out to Andrew Miller to compliment him on his extraordinary photos and ask permission to share some of them here on the community portal.

Not only are Andrew’s pictures breathtaking, so are the descriptions that he posts with them. Proud to be a lifelong advocate of Saint John, it’s easy to see this reflected in what he shares – visually and verbally.

From February 19, 2026:

Standing beneath the Reversing Falls on the old Bridge Path year’s ago, I couldn’t help but look out and capture this.

All that steel.

All those crossbeams.

An incredibly powerful, elaborate support system mostly unseen by the people driving overhead.

We pass over structures like this every day without thinking about what’s holding everything together. The strength isn’t flashy. It’s not always visible. But it’s essential.

It made me think about the systems we build in our own lives.

Family.

Friends.

Faith.

Routine.

Community.

Therapy.

Discipline.

Purpose.

Some support structures are strong and steady. Some are patched together after storms. Some are quietly carrying more weight than they were ever designed for.

And sometimes, when someone seems short-tempered, distant, exhausted, or overwhelmed… it’s not about what you can see on the surface. It may be that the beams underneath are under strain.

If you notice someone struggling and it’s not obvious why, there’s a chance their underlying support system could use some support.

Check in.

Offer steady ground.

Be a crossbeam for someone else.

We all need something holding us up when the current is strong.

EVERYTHING! She loves interviewing artists like Dean Brody, Tim Hicks, Lindsay Ell, going to concerts and dancing in the control booth on King St.

If you ask Krista her ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE thing, though, about country radio, the answer is the connection with you, the listener. The friendships made over the years with our listeners is second to none.
