Saint John Regional Y Announces Possible COVID Exposure

Members of the Saint John Regional YMCA may have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 early last week.

In a post on its website late Sunday, the YMCA said the exposure would have taken place between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Jan. 4.

“Public Health is advising staff and patrons who scanned into the Regional Y through Membership on the specified time and date — regardless of their location within the building — to self-monitor for symptoms until midnight of January 19, 2021,” said the post.

Public Health is using information collected through the Regional Y’s card scanning system and online program registrations to contact all members, staff and volunteers who were in direct contact, said the organization.
