Saint John Riptide Host Moncton In ‘Battle Of The 506’

As regular season action winds down for the Saint John Riptide, the city’s mayor wants people to come check out a game.

The Riptide host the Moncton Magic at Harbour Station on Thursday night in a game that’s been dubbed the “Battle of the 506”.

Mayor Don Darling wants to see a full house and has even issued a friendly challenge to Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold.

“The friendly challenge is that the losing mayor will wear the other team’s jersey for the day at city hall,” says Darling. “Mayor Arnold will look fantastic in a Riptide jersey.”

Darling bought 1,000 tickets to give out for Thursday night’s game and is encouraging other local businesses to do the same.

The action gets underway at Harbour Station at 7 p.m. Thursday.
