UPDATED: Saint John Streets Impacted By Flooding

**Updated at 2:35 p.m. Friday**

Several streets throughout Saint John are being impacted by flooding on Friday.

As of 2 p.m., the city said the following streets are closed:

  • Rothesay Avenue from McAllister Drive to 1-Mile Interchange
  • End of Rothesay Avenue at the train bridge
  • Retail Drive between Rothesay Avenue and Oakland Street
  • McAllister Drive in front of McDonald’s
  • University Avenue from Varsity Street to Sandy Point Road
  • Thornbrough Street between Anglin Drive and Sandy Point Road
  • Red Head Road at the dyke (temporary closure to clean up rock and debris)

Westmorland Road is down to one lane in front of the entrance to Sport Chek.

City crews are asking drivers to avoid the Haymarket Square area.

“Motorists are advised to drive with caution and care, observe signage and barricades, and avoid flooded areas,” the city said in a news release.
