Saint John to begin hydrant flushing program

The City of Saint John’s annual hydrant flushing program is set to begin next week.

Flushing will be performed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. over the next few weeks.

Officials say work will begin on Monday, July 17, in the south central peninsula.

Flushing may also affect areas of Haymarket Square, Douglas Avenue, and neighbourhoods north and south of the Saint John Throughway.

City officials said you may notice cloudy water or lower pressure when pipes on your street are being flushed, but the water is safe to consume.
