Saint Johners Urged To Fill TD Station On Monday Night

The path to hosting and potentially hoisting the 2022 Memorial Cup begins on Monday in Saint John, N.B.

The first game in the Canada Russia Series is at TD Station and the folks at Discover Saint John and Sea Dogs want to see the seats filled.

Victoria Clarke of Discover Saint John says it’s our chance to create a strong first impression with the new Canadian Hockey League president David MacKenzie and the Commissioner of Hockey Canada and Sportsnet.

“We win on the fact that we are a hockey-loving community, that we come out and support public events and we have an opportunity to make a great first impression. So I am inviting people to come out on Monday night for a great night of hockey.” Clarke said.

Trevor Georgie, President of the Saint John Sea Dogs, says the game is about the future stars of the NHL including Alexis Lafreniere.

He’s been described as the next Sidney Crosby.

He calls the Canada Russia series an “iconic rivalry” come to life right here in Saint John.

“One of our players, Jeremy Poirier, will be playing it in as well. It’s a pretty big honour.” Georgie said.

Tickets for Game 1 of the Canada Russia Series at TD Station can be purchased through the Saint John Ale House and Rocky’s Sports Bar for $15 each.
