A Greater Moncton area couple have become the region’s newest millionaires after winning Lotto 6-49’s guaranteed prize in last week’s draw.
Alfreda Cormier and Val LeBlanc from Saint-Phillipe picked up their cheque at Atlantic Lottery headquarters today.
Alfreda says when the ticket was validated at a Needs store in Moncton, a stranger behind her in line became overwhelmed with emotion.
“A woman hugged me and hugged me… and crying tears… real tears,” she noted.
Alfreda and Val plan to buy a new car and a truck and finish renovations on their home including a new kitchen.
