Salad Kits Recalled Over Possible E. Coli Contamination

Officials are recalling Fresh Express brand Sunflower Crisp Chopped Salad Kits due to possible E. coli contamination.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the recall is part of an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak.

The agency says there are 16 confirmed cases of E. coli illness linked to the outbreak, including three in New Brunswick, one in Nova Scotia and 10 in Ontario.

Four people have been hospitalized but no deaths have been reported.

The agency says many of those who became sick reported having eaten the salad kits.

Officials say you should throw out the salad kits or return them to where they were purchased.
