Satisfaction With Common Council Grows

Over two-thirds of Saint Johnners are happy with their municipal government these days according to polling done by Corporate Research Associates.

67% of people surveyed in the city say they are satisfied with the job being done by Mayor Mel Norton and Common Council. This compares to 60 per cent satisfaction rate three months ago.

Despite that, consumer confidence in Saint John lags behind other cities in the Maritimes, in large part, because of continuing high unemployment.

Elsewhere in the Maritimes, consumer confidence is strongest in Moncton and 75 per cent of people in Fredericton say they’re satisfied with their city government and Mayor Brad Woodside.
