Saturday Morning Sports For December 29th

In Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action:

The Saint John Sea Dogs pummelled the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 6-1.

James White scored a hat trick for Saint John, while William Poirier, Nicholas Deakin-Poot and new teammate Alex Drover also scored.

At the 2019 World Junior Hockey Championship:

Russia edged the Czech Republic 2-1 while Team USA beat Kazakhstan 8-2.

In the NHL:

John Tavares scored two goals and backup goalie Garret Sparks had 27 saves as Toronto doubled up Columbus 4-2.

Elsewhere, Montreal beat Florida 5-3 while Ottawa fell to the Islanders 6-3.

In the NBA:

Kawhi Leonard scored 21 points for the Raptors in their 116-87 loss to Orlando.

Toronto is now second in the Eastern Conference standings behind Milwaukee.
