The Saint John Sea Dogs fell to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 3-2.
Luke Wilson had both goals for Saint John.
The two teams face off again this afternoon in the Sea Dogs’ final game of the regular season.
Meantime, the Sea Dogs have added Owen MacPhee to their roster as an emergency backup goaltender for the final weekend of the regular season.
The 17-year-old from Sydney played this season for Riverview High School in Coxheath, N.S., posting a 5-3 record with a 2.36 goals-against average in eight games.
He appeared in four playoff games as well, with a 3-1 record and a 1.52 goals-against average.
His signing became necessary as both Alex D’Orio and Matthew Williams are injured and not available to play.
The #SJSeaDogs fell short in Sydney on Friday night.
