It is the time of year that we start thinking the winter weather is coming to an end. Still a few weeks, but still. So, with that in mind, take some time to take care of the pleasures of winter one last time. Like sliding, hiking and even making snowballs. It could the last snowball of the year! That is to say, unless you decide to preserve it like this guy did:
The ‘world’s oldest snowball’ has been around for a while, matter of fact, Its celebrating its 50th anniversary! So, story is, this guy, Jeff Shamus, when he was 14, made the snowball during a rare February 1976 snowfall (rare, because he lived in San Jose California.) Jeff, put it in the freezer and for whatever reason, his mother kept it and preserved it in a peanut butter jar. His mom died in 2017 and Shamus found it when cleaning out her place (He didn’t know she still had it), but now HE has it in HIS freezer! He says he was 14 when he made it, he’s 64 now and he calls it a sentimental link to his childhood, adding, It’s the 1st thing we think about, when the power goes out…. Quick to the freezer, don’t worry about the food, SAVE the SNOWBALL !
