Out with the old, in with the new.
The Saint John Sea Dogs have acquired goaltender Callum Booth from the Quebec Remparts.
Sea Dogs Manager of Media and Communications Tim Roszell says Booth has some playoff experience and he’s also played in a Memorial Cup game.
Booth was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes and brings an era of stability to the goaltending position for Saint John.
Roszell says the team saw a lot of great things out of Alex Bishop, but they wanted someone in net with a little more experience to potentially lead them to a deep playoff run.
Bishop was sent to Quebec in the trade along with Olivier Mathieu, a 2017 first round pick and a 2019 third round pick.
In 21 games with the Quebec Remparts, Booth posted a goals against average of 2.87 and a save percentage of .918
