UPDATE: Sea Dogs Select 14 Players In Entry Draft

The Saint John Sea Dogs selected 14 players as part of the 2022 QMJHL Entry Draft on Tuesday.

Jérémie Richard was the first pick for the Sea Dogs in the third round of the draft, 37th overall.

Richard won the 2022 Telus Cup with the Moncton Flyers, recording a goal and five assists.

During regular season play with the team, the defenseman picked up five goals and 15 assists.

The Sea Dogs also welcomed Saint John native Reid Calder from the Vito’s with the 110th selection and Reed Pettipas of the Saint John Knights with the 235th selection.

The Sea Dogs also selected two players in the 2022 American QMJHL Entry Draft: Patrick Murphy of Rhode Island and Jaden Duprey of Vermont.

Meanwhile, several players from the Saint John region were selected by other QMJHL teams.

Alexandre Pelletier from Saint John, Angelo Fullarton from Quispamsis, and Dawson Grandy from Hampton will play for Cape Breton.

Gabe Smith of Saint Andrews was selected by Moncton, Connor Arseneault of Saint John was chosen by Rouyn-Noranda, Colby Train of Saint John was selected by Chicoutimi, and Jacob Kaine of Quispamsis was chosen by Gatineau.
