UPDATED: Search Ends For Missing Swimmer

Despite an extensive search, police in Saint John have not located 57-year-old Paul Davis.

The search began Saturday night near the ferry terminal on the west side of Saint John.

Davis, an avid swimmer, had gone to the area earlier in the day to swim.

His belongings were later found on a beach south of the ferry terminal.

A coordinated and comprehensive search along parts of the shoreline and in the waters of the Saint John River, Saint John Harbour and Bay of Fundy was conducted on Saturday and Sunday involving various search teams, technology, watercraft, and aircraft.

The search involved members of the Saint John Police, the Saint John Fire Department, the Joint Rescue Coordination Center, the Royal Canadian Navy, the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Canadian Coast Guard, Provincial Airlines (PAL), Atlantic Towing, Bay Ferries and Ground Search and Rescue Teams from River Valley, Regional Tri-County and Charlotte County,

The search has now concluded.
