Sensory-Friendly Grocery Shopping On The West Side

A west side grocery store is offering customers a chance to shop in a calmer environment.

The Sobeys on Fairville Boulevard is offering two sensory-friendly shopping hours a week on Sunday nights and Tuesday afternoons.

During these hours, the store will feature reduced lighting and noise.

The store also suggests everyone pick up a sensory-friendly suggestion card at customer service.

Back in November, the Interaction Children’s Theatre put on a sensory-friendly performance of Jungle Book at the Imperial Theatre.

The show included low lighting and everyone in the audience was given the option to move around if they wanted to.
