Shoppers Phasing Out Plastic Bags

Bring your own bags if you are shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart.

The store is phasing out its single-use plastic shopping bags as of today.

“Our commitment to fight climate change by reducing our carbon footprint is an important part of our company’s purpose,” says Pat Dean, Senior Vice President of Front Store & Category Management, in a statement. “Cleaner communities make for healthier communities, and we’re pleased to do our part.”

Shoppers joins a long list of businesses doing away with plastic bags.

Store officials say those who don’t bring a bag will be offered reusable options for purchase.
