Shots fired inside west Saint John building

No injuries were reported after shots were fired inside of a building in west Saint John.

Police were called to a report of shots fired on Charlotte Street West around 5:50 a.m. Friday.

Arriving officers contained the building and took two people into custody, said a police release.

Two warrants were executed and officers seized a firearm along with additional evidence.

A 20-year-old man was charged with possessing weapons dangerous to the public and probation violation. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 4.

Police said a 22-year-old woman was released without conditions.
