The Anglophone South School District hosted its first ever sumo-bot competition at Simonds High School.
The annual SumoBot competition at Simonds High School…ten high schools and so much excitement!!
— ASD-South (@ASD_South) April 12, 2017
The event had 10 high schools take part and battle robots students design, build and program using coding.
Kendra Macrae is a grade 12 student at Simonds High School and says the process was pretty intense.
She says problem solving is a big thing. She says if your robot is not working does it have to do with the coding adding there is a lot of troubleshooting.
The goal is to get students interested in technology and possibly even consider it as a career. Superintendent Zoe Watson says the event does a great job in engaging students.
