Sisters From St. Stephen Take Home Over $300,000 For Their App Called ‘Newpy’

Two sisters from St. Stephen took home over $300,000 after their social app was named a national winner at the 2017 New Brunswick Innovation Foundation’s Breakthru Competition.

The app is called ‘Newpy’ and Co-founder Erin O’Halloran says the app allows users to digitally wrap product photos and send them to friends.

If you buy a gift for someone, you could then wrap it digitally using the Newpy app.

O’Halloran says the first step will be finding an app developer and then the next step will be marketing the app to build a user base.

Erin’s sister Alana has been working on the design content of the app and 3D models the digital packages. She also does a lot of the branding for the company.

The sisters aren’t quite sure when the app will launch officially.

Newpy has already partnered with three companies on a beta trial.

The companies include East Coast Lifestyle, Country Liberty and Just Swing Golf.
