It’s a big honour for six communities in the province that have been designated as age-friendly.
They are Grand Bay-Westfield, Rothesay, New Maryland, Fredericton, Dieppe and Beresford and they achieved the designation under the Age-Friendly Recognition Program from the province.
They did so by fulfilling four milestones that made their communities inclusive of seniors.
There will be community celebrations in the coming weeks.
Last year Moncton, Cocagne and Tracadie were designated age-friendly communities.
