Slocum and Ferris closes after nearly 130 years in business

A fixture of the Saint John City Market for nearly 130 years is no more.

Slocum & Ferris, a popular eatery and café, closed for the final time this weekend.

Founded in 1895, the business was well-known internationally for its dulse-related products.

Local entrepreneur Corey Dugas purchased the popular market business back in 2021.

Before that, it had been owned by Dave Forestell and Sherrie Boyd for several years.
