New Brunswick gas and diesel prices are each expected to fall by less than one cent per litre tonight.
Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says a larger drop was expected until an explosion occurred along a critical pipeline.
“With the shutdown of the Colonial pipeline temporarily in the United States – which delivers a lot of gasoline to the U.S. Northeast from Texas – you saw a huge spike in prices.
McTeague says gas prices are expected to rise by up to 5 cents per litre in Ontario and Quebec.
He adds it’s difficult to say where prices will go next until that pipeline is back up and running which is expected by the weekend.
