Snow Leads To Several Crashes In Saint John

Wednesday’s snow and slippery road conditions led to a busy day for emergency crews in the city.

Saint John police say they responded to 11 collisions throughout the city between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Spokesperson Jim Henessy said one person was taken to hospital after a vehicle hit a tree on King Street East after 2:30 p.m.

“No update on the extent of the injuries,” said Hennessy in a news release.

There were two separate crashes westbound on the Harbour Bridge shortly after 10 a.m., a two-vehicle collision at Samuel Davis Drive and Itty Bitty Way just after 10:30 a.m., and a single-vehicle crash at Commerce Drive and Consumers Drive around 2:45 p.m.

Other collisions included:

  • A two-vehicle crash on Adelaide Street just after 8 a.m.
  • A two-vehicle crash on Thorne Avenue just before noon
  • A two-vehicle crash on Coburg Street just after 1 p.m.
  • A two-vehicle crash near Shamrock Court after 1:30 p.m.
  • A single-vehicle crash at Highway 7 and Route 177 just after 3 p.m.
  • A two-vehicle crash at Wilton Street and Park Avenue just after 5 p.m.

There were no injuries in any of those crashes, said Hennessy.
