UPDATE: Snow, Rain Leave Behind Messy Roads

Overnight snow and rain have led to some slippery and slushy conditions Wednesday morning.

About five centimetres of snow fell in the Saint John region before it changed to rain.

Highways in the region were reported to be partly snow-covered with icy and slushy patches in places as of 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Conditions have started to improve, and as of 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, most major highways were listed as wet with slushy patches.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure said there was a collision on Route 785 in the Utopia area. As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, the road was still closed north of the intersection with Route 780.

The Saint John Airport has reported some cancellations, so you will want to check ahead before leaving.

Saint John Transit is not reporting any issues for the Wednesday morning commute.
