Some Police Operations Affected By Cyberattack

Some operations at the Saint John Police Force are being impacted by the recent cyberattack against the city.

In a tweet, police said criminal background checks will have to be completed in person and payment can only be taken in cash.

Anyone who applied before Friday is asked to contact police at 506-648-3200 to ensure their paperwork was not compromised.

Police also warn that the criminal background check process may take longer than usual.

The city’s 911 service and non-emergency line have not been affected by the attack.
